Hey all!

I feel like I've been running around like mad.  I've been so busy, which is nice on one hand, but annoying on the other.  I go from work to meetings and friends.  (By the way, lovely time with the girls on Friday!)  Things are going really great, but I am looking forward to the lull.  In a week, I am going to be out of town, training.  I'm looking forward to meeting new people and learning new things.  But I can't believe it is going to take a week.  I'm afraid that I will be incredibly bored.  Oh well, such is life.

In other news, I am trying to save up to get a new camera!

Belated Update

hey!  i kind of forgot that i even had this!  i've been very busy lately.  i started working at the daycare i was at last summer.  i love it.  the kids are as cute as can be.  and the other women i work with are all great and they love Jesus and are dedicated to the kids.

i love it, yet i am glad that there are better things ahead.  in february, i will be going to east asia to teach English!  i am so excited.  i'll be there for six months, teaching with some friends of mine.  i know that there are big things there for me.  i've been wondering if i would like to pursue a career in TESOL, and now i will have a chance to see if i like it enough.  i hope that i will like it and then go to grad school for my masters' in tesol.  i like teaching college age kids the best, i think.  its too hard with young kids, because they just want to play.

anyway, things are relatively good.  i really feel like i am in a good place of my life.  i like my job, i am getting along with my family (for the most part), and i have plans.  i am going to start attending a Bible study with some older ladies in my church, who will have lots of chances to mentor me and i've been going to the prayer room in our church.  it's so good to be right with the Lord!!  i had alot of trouble since coming back from Mexico.  I just backslid alot and lost my focus.  i wanted to be selfish for a little while.  but there is no peace in that.  i feel so much better and i am learning from His Word now.  i'm excited where the next few months will take me.

so, that was long!  but does anyone still read these?  let me know!  i want to hear from everyone!

so i had an interview on monday, and that seemed to go alright.  i gave a few canned answers, but then it is just for an entry position.  oh well.  anyway, he said that he would call me later that week and b/c it is a big corporation, they would have to do another interview with another store manager.  ...interesting, a brushoff?  we shall see.

i have been missing Mexico alot.  there were alot of cool things that i could do there.  it was so nice just to walk down to the corner and buy a bottle of coke or to walk to the bus stop and not have to worry about gas.  (though i am sooo thankful to be able to drive again!)  but there were always interesting characters on the bus and strange people that tried to speak English with us.  Gretchen and I would always be talking away and then realize what our conversations must sound like to people that know a little English.  hehe.  one of the best times was when Gretchen, Andrea and I were on the bus and a guy next to Andrea started talking to her in English.  He said that he also spoke French.  i said that i spoke french too and he said, "Voulez-vous coucher avec moi?" which means "would you like to sleep with me?"  but he said that it meant 'do you want to go out tonight'...  next he said that he also spoke Chinese.  the girls made me speak the little chinese that i knew and he just looked at me blankly.  it was so weird!  and the part that andrea hated the most was when he asked her how old she was and responded with, "but you are so big!"  hehe, what a weird correlation they have with age and height!  maybe its because they are all so short...

it was an amazing cultural experience and i have promised to share more stories as they come to me.

Home Again

It's been forever, I know, but I am finally at home again.  I've learned alot and changed alot, but am very, very glad to be home I think.

For now, I am excited to catch up on American life and to reunite with old friends.  I would love to hear from you all!
